Although underground railways serve as art exhibit venue in various European cities none of them can compete with metro in Athens. During the construction of metro more than 50 thousand ancient articles were revealed in Athens and many of them are currently displayed there for public admiration.  To emphasize cultural value of all metro stations archaeological finds are combined with works of art of contemporary Greek artists. Your cost would be just a metro ticket. If you don't have a lot of time and have to choose - then go for Syntagma station and Acropolis.
