Sforzesco Castle, one of the most famous monuments in Milan, has seen long historical vicissitudes during the past years. It was demolished, then rebuilt several times, embellished and restored to become a symbol of both happy and dramatic events that are to be found in the historical background of the city. Sforzesco Castle today represents one of the most interesting and entertaining arts centres in Milan, housing several important art and history museums and libraries. Admission to the castle is free of charge, except entrance to museums. One of the top object - last sculpture by Michelangelo - Pieta Rondanini.
