Tower of Belem was built in 16th century as part of river Tagus defense system, but has become a real arcitectural jewel and symbol of Lisbon city.  From the top of the tower you get magnificent views over the city and the sea. Free entry on Sundays and public holidays untill 14:00, and every day for children under 14. Excellent location on the river makes it an excellent photo opportunity for tourists at any time of a day.
