This fountain was designed in 1872 by the French sculptor Charles A. Lebourg, as commissioned by the English millionaire philanthropist Sir Richard Wallace. Its design is picturesque - cast iron fountain with four female caryatids, dressed in light, draping tunics, supporting a dome with four fish on top.
