There is no other European capital city  like London where public parks play so important role in its urban environment.  Before visiting parks and gardens, check their web sites to find the best way to explore each of them.

Hyde Park Highlights: the Lido, 7th July Memorial, Diana fountain, Speakers' Corner. The park is open from 5am until midnight all year round.

St.James's Park.  Highlights: Horsehuards Parade, the Blue bridge, pelicans, the Mall, playground. The park is open from 5am to midnight all year round.

Green Park. Highlights: Buckingham Palace, Canada Memorial, Gun salutes, daffodils, deckchairs. The park is open all day all year round.

Kensington Gardens. Highlights: Diana playground, Italian gardens, Peter Pan statue, Albert Memorial, Kensington Palace. The park is open from 6am to dusk all year round.

Greenwich Park. Highlights: the Observatory, deer park, Wolfe statue & view, playground, boating lake. The park is open from 6.00am all year round. Closing times vary depending on the season, a document giving specific closing times can be downloaded here.

Richmond Park. Highlights: deer park, Isabella plantation, King Henry's mound, shire horses, playground. The park is open from 7am in the summer and 7.30am in the winter, and closes at dusk all year round.
